1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the AltU platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including students, employers, community college partners, and visitors.
2. Description of Service
AltU provides a workforce training platform that delivers career-focused educational programs through community college partnerships. The Service includes online coursework, virtual reality training simulations, AI-powered tutoring, assessment tools, career placement services, and employer connection features.
3. Account Registration
You must create an account to access most features of the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Enrollment and Tuition
Enrollment in programs is subject to availability and eligibility requirements. Tuition and fees are outlined during the enrollment process and may be covered by financial aid including Pell Grants, WIOA funding, GI Bill benefits, employer sponsorship, or direct payment. Refund policies vary by program and are disclosed prior to enrollment.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
- Share your account credentials or allow unauthorized access
- Submit false information or misrepresent your identity
- Engage in academic dishonesty including cheating on assessments
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Copy, distribute, or create derivative works of course content
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or staff
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Service, including course materials, VR simulations, AI tutor interactions, assessments, and platform software, is the property of AltU or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the content solely for your educational purposes.
7. Credentials and Certifications
Upon successful completion of a program, you may receive credentials or certifications as described in your program enrollment. AltU facilitates credential issuance but certain industry certifications may be administered by third-party certification bodies. Passing scores and requirements are determined by the applicable certifying organization.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AltU shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service. AltU does not guarantee employment outcomes or specific salary ranges upon program completion.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, though certain provisions of these Terms survive termination.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
