Frequently asked questions
Is AltU an accredited institution?
AltU partners with accredited institutions and our programs prepare students for industry-recognized certifications from bodies like CompTIA, NABCEP, ASE, and the FAA. The certifications you earn are recognized by employers nationwide.
Do I need prior experience to enroll?
No. All AltU programs are designed for beginners. We start with fundamentals and progressively build your skills through AI-guided learning and hands-on VR practice. Many of our successful graduates came from completely different career backgrounds.
How much time do I need to commit each week?
Full-time students typically spend 30-40 hours per week. Part-time options are available at 15-20 hours per week, which extends the program duration. Your AI tutor adapts to your schedule and pace.
What is the refund policy?
Students may withdraw within the first 14 days for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are prorated based on program completion. Financial aid recipients should consult with their advisor about return-of-funds policies.
Do I need a VR headset?
A Meta Quest headset is required for VR simulation modules. If you don't have one, AltU offers a headset loan program for enrolled students. Some campus locations also have headsets available for in-person use.
What happens after I graduate?
Graduates receive their industry credential, a verified digital certificate, and access to our employer network. Our career services team facilitates introductions with hiring partners. Career support continues for 12 months after graduation.
